HIDDEN SEASONS

The Outcome Hidden Seasons
January 7, 2026

Entering November and December, I found myself in a season of silence and isolation — a hidden season.

A season where the Father hides, consecrates, and prepares His servants for a greater purpose.

This was one of the most challenging seasons for me, because I am accustomed to movement — to the work, the hustle, the visible labor of the Kingdom. Yet in this stillness, I began to understand the wisdom of God:

There is a season and a time for everything.

Just as a farmer sows seeds into the ground, there comes a season where he does nothing but wait. There is a time for planting, a time for growth unseen, and a time for harvest. No farmer can rush what happens beneath the soil. Trust is required in the waiting.

THE STRUGGLE OF REST

Rest is difficult for those who have not yet been deeply rooted in faith.
The kind of trust required in seasons of rest is essential for advancing the Kingdom.

We live in a culture trained to value productivity — work, work, work — with little room for stillness. Over time, rest becomes suspicious. Some even view it as laziness or disobedience. Yet Scripture tells us that only the wicked find no rest, while those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.

Rest is not a lack of faith.
Rest is an act of faith.

On the seventh day, God Himself rested — not because He was tired, but because His work was complete. Rest declares that God is sovereign, and that we trust Him enough to pause.

SEEING FROM GOD’S PERSPECTIVE

In seasons of rest, God invites us to see life through His perspective, not our own. This is frustrating for many who equate value with visible output. But God does not measure fruit the way we do. He values relationship more than results.

Rest gives us space for:

  • Intimacy with the Lord
  • Self-reflection
  • Family
  • Realignment of priorities

These are not distractions from growth — they are essential to it.

I am reminded of the moment when Mary poured out the alabaster jar at the feet of Jesus. Judas objected, saying it could have been sold and given to the poor. Jesus responded:
“The poor you will always have with you, but Me you do not always have.”

The point was not neglecting ministry — it was recognizing holy moments.

Seasons of rest are opportunities to pour out our alabaster jars at the feet of Jesus.

“The poor you will always have with you, but Me you do not always have.”

A SEASON OF CONSECRATION

Hidden seasons are not wasted seasons.
They are seasons of consecration.

They are times when:

  • We are not in the public eye
  • Not visible on social media
  • Not actively ministering outwardly

Yet deeply present in His presence.

It is also a season of sharpening — returning to the Word, refining gifts, valuing quietness, and learning trust again.

A time for the Potter to mold the clay.
A time for the axe to be sharpened.
A time for the vision to develop — like an old photograph forming quietly in the darkness of a darkroom.

God moves in seasons. Waiting upon the Lord is never wasted.
He often speaks in a still, small voice — and only those whose soul and spirit are quiet can hear Him.

PREPARED FOR WHAT’S NEXT

November and December may have been hidden seasons, but they became the best seasons for me. They taught me how to truly spend time with God, to abide, to be renewed, and to be strengthened once again.

As we step into 2026, I do so energized, aligned, and deeply aware that what God forms in secret will eventually be revealed in power.

Hidden seasons are not delays.
They are divine preparations.
