The Father is Calling.

“My wayward children,” says the LORD, “come back to me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.”
Jeremiah 3:22

The Condition of Faithlessness

How many times have we become so faithless that we lose sight of God’s promises?

I know that road too well.

I have walked in faithlessness—no longer on fire for God, no longer hungry for His Word. Reading the Bible felt like a chore, church became just another routine, and sometimes, an afterthought. “You’ve got nothing else to do on Sundays anyway,” I would tell myself. And if something more exciting came up? I’d trade church for it without hesitation.

Faithlessness is not just about skipping church—it is a condition of the heart. It is a slow drift away from trust in God. It is disloyalty, unreliability, and an erosion of faith. Imagine being in a place where God can no longer entrust you with His purpose because you have lost faith in His ways.

Israel knew this well.

The Treachery That Leads to Faithlessness

Israel, God’s chosen nation, had once witnessed His mighty hand—the parting of the Red Sea, the pillar of fire, manna from heaven—yet they fell into faithlessness. God Himself cries out to them in Jeremiah 3, calling His wayward children to return.

Why did they fall? because of Treachery.

Treachery is the betrayal of trust, a deceptive action that leads to spiritual downfall. They were surrounded by idolatry, deception, and misplaced desires, leading them away from the One True God.

And today, we see the same treachery creeping into the Body of Christ.

Many are unknowingly caught in deception—not by outright rebellion, but by seeking after the promises of God instead of seeking the Promise Giver. Their hearts chase after prosperity, miracles, and breakthroughs, yet they have lost the fire of intimacy with God.

But God’s promises are always seen in the eternal perspective, not the immediate. The promise to Abraham is still unfolding today—and we are part of it (Galatians 3:29). Abraham did not idolize the promise—he was willing to lay it on the altar because God was greater than the promise.

Who is enthroned in your heart? The promise or the Promise Giver?

God’s Call to the Faithless

“Then the LORD said to me, ‘Even faithless Israel is less guilty than treacherous Judah! Therefore, go and give this message to Israel: This is what the LORD says: “O Israel, my faithless people, come home to me again, for I am merciful. I will not be angry with you forever. Only acknowledge your guilt. Admit that you rebelled against the LORD your God and committed adultery against him by worshiping idols under every green tree. Confess that you refused to listen to my voice. I, the LORD, have spoken!”’
Jeremiah 3:11-13

God is not looking to condemn you. He is calling you home.

Healing in God’s Presence

If you are reading this, I pray that you return to the Father. You have carried hurt and disappointment for too long—it is time to be healed in God’s presence.

Yes, you may have experienced betrayal in the Church.
Yes, you may have seen treachery among those who claim to follow Christ.
Yes, you may have been abandoned by mentors, pastors, or friends.

But I want you to know this—there is healing in Jesus.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
Psalm 34:18

The Spirit of the Lord has been sent for this very reason—to comfort the broken, to set captives free, to proclaim the Lord’s favor.

“He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.”
Isaiah 61:1-3

God longs for you to return. He wants to call you His child again.

“I thought to myself,
‘I would love to treat you as my own children!’
I wanted nothing more than to give you this beautiful land—
the finest possession in the world.
I looked forward to your calling me ‘Father,’
and I wanted you never to turn from me.”

Jeremiah 3:19

A Prayer of Returning

Heavenly Father,
I come before You, acknowledging my wayward heart. I have allowed faithlessness, disappointment, and worldly distractions to pull me away from You. But today, I choose to return. I no longer want to chase after the blessings and neglect the One who blesses. Lord, heal my heart. Restore my soul. Rekindle my fire for You. I surrender my pain, my doubts, and my past into Your hands. Let my heart be an altar, where Your fire dwells richly. You are my Father, and I am Your child. I receive Your love again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Come back to Jesus. Return to the Presence of the Promise Giver.

Let go of the pain. Let go of the past. Let go of the worries. God is opening a door for you—but you need to step out in faith.

The promises of God are already yours. Now, set an altar of prayer in your heart, so that the fire of God may dwell in you richly. Let Jesus be King in your life. God bless!
